I find dance and performance to be an immediate way of addressing the reality of being human, specifically my primal need for love and acceptance. This is a driving force behind why I choose to make dance: to claim my existence and expose my ego. I feel that the self I am when alone is my deepest state of self and, ideally, the self I want to be in the world. This paradox interests me: to simultaneously exist in the opposing polarities of inclusion and loneliness.
